Bugged

Caleb and Carissa have a new fascination with bugs.

Moth season was particularly dense this year due to extra rainfall. Much to my dismay Caleb and Carissa have become our resident moth catchers. They like to catch moths by hand and then take them outside while yelling "go outside moth!"

I did not, nor would not teach my children to catch moths.
Disgusting.
But when Jeff was globetrotting earlier this summer a church friend introduced the tots to the 'joy of catching bugs', particularly moths. She didn't want our small children to fear bugs as much as her big children do now. Thanks Deanna!
Trying to nurture their affection for bugs (not) I bought the tots bug catchers. To my surprise (and joy) they are currently intrigued with catching ladybugs in our backyard. Ladybugs...my speed.
But if they start catching our native Garder snakes you'll definitely hear me screaming.

100th Post

This entry marks the 100th post on this blog.

While I kicked and screamed for over a year about starting a blog, I finally succumbed to the peer pressure of my good friend Carrie. And now, thanks to her I have this here blog.

Thank you to all of you readers who click on our blog address! I'm curious to know who's lurking out there so if you haven't ever left a comment please do so.(clematis flower in my back yard)

Uncle B and Aunt Angela

My cute sister-in-law Angela and my younger brother Brian bestowed their presence upon us in June. The last time they were here our small children were mere babies. It was good practice to hold our bitty ones back then because now they are expecting their first little guy in November. One evening we had a picnic dinner in the Garden of the God's Uncle B was a bit excited about his idea of feeding the horses in our neighborhood. He asked the owners permission and 20 pounds of carrots later...

Precious Daughter

Precious.

A wee bit of heaven,

Drifted down from above.

A handful of happiness

A heart full of love.

*
The mystery of life,

So sacred and sweet.

The giver of joy,

So deep and complete.

*

Precious and priceless,

So loveable to.

The world's sweetest miracle,

That would be you.

Nana's Visit

We were excited to have Nana come see us during Jeff's globe trotting days. She was blessed with a free airline ticket which made it possible for her to come to CO and help me with the little ones.

Sadly though, the weather was on a cold and rainy streak and my Arizona loving mom had to resign herself to wearing scarfs and hats. Don't worry, we gave her a hard time about it. We went for a picnic in the 'Garden of the God's'. The tots loved running on the bridge.Nana sent her old keyboard to the kids in hopes that one of them becomes a prodigy. No pressure kids. And, we had some fun times at the park. And the YMCA poolA visit from Nana wouldn't be complete without a special home manicure! This time Nana got crazy and bought nail polish in Carissa's favorite color - purple! It was a wonderful visit from Nana. We created wonderful memories.

Thank you Nana. We love you THIIIIIIIIS much!

More than 52 hours

If you have been a follower of this blog since the beginning you might remember when my Aunt Melanie came to visit us for 52 Hours last year.

This year however it was more than 52 Hours AND it was a wonderful visit.

Aunt Melanie flew in to see me and the small ones while Jeff was out of the country for three weeks.

By the way, sorry for the blog hiatus but with Jeff's absence and many visitors in our home I haven't had a moment to sit down and up-date this here blog. That being said, I hope to play some catch up here this week!

Posted here are a few pictures of our time with Aunt Melanie. The weather was more rainy than usual in May but we tried to make the best of the sunny moments we did have.
Playing at our neighborhood park.
Enjoying a sunny day at the Broadmoore Resort.
Feeding the ducks and geese popcorn and running around the beautiful groundsThe highlight of the day was riding in the paddle boat!
During our paddle on the pond I propped each child between my legs so that they could push the pedals. When Carissa was pedaling her pants fell down and she was pedaling in her undies! Oblivious, I thought she was talking about her shoes but then she yelled, "Mom, my panties!" Our little petity can't keep anything up around her waist. As Caleb and Carissa would say "Aunt Melanie's the best!"

Thank you Aunt Melanie for coming to visit us.

We love you.
