Holiday Breckenridge

We vacationed for a week in beautiful Breckenridge, CO. We were blessed to rent a 2 bedroom condo in Mountain Thunder Lodge from a private owner for half the rate. We spent our time walking around town, hiking, swimming and relaxing as much as possible. Caleb and Carissa enjoyed the outdoor heated swimming pool.

We went on a 2 hour hike at Boreas Pass - Bakers Tank. The views were amazing.
Carissa pointed out many yellow flowers like the one in this picture.
Papa and Grandma Kintner came to visit us for a day. Caleb and Carissa had fun riding the 'horsey' and being thrown on the couch. Lots of laughter!

While the grandparents were good for a game of 'horsey,' they were also good for babysitting! Jeff and I went on a dinner date and took a break from the little ones.

One of the highlights of the trip was the elevator. No joke. Before the elevator arrived they would command it to 'OPEN' emphasizing their request by punching the air. Caleb could reach the buttons and he delighted in pushing them. Whoever decided to put the alarm button on the bottom wasn't thinking of curious toddlers!
This is the twins sitting on the dumbwaiter in the parking garage. It was a 'tradition' every time we walked through the garage. Another day and an easier hike. We saw a fox and chipmunks ate out of our hands! Unfortunately this was the place that Caleb fell and got his first of many head wounds. A lot of blood but nothing a few wipes couldn't take care of. Five minutes later the though guy was ready for more action.

The kids had fun exploring on their own. Who knew picking tree bark could be so fun?

My little girl having fun with the camera. Jeff says that I've trained her, I think she's just a natural.

Caleb and Carissa giggling as they are tipped backwards in their stroller. "Again, Again" they squeal.
Carissa is saying 'hi' to a passerby. Shy? No, I'm afraid not.
Hanging out before heading out of Breckenridge.
We had a great time. My only disappointment was that I didn't see 'Jesse and Deanna' from the Bachelorette. Priorities, I know...maybe next time?

ZOO

We took our first trip to the ZOO! The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs is unique. Rather than viewing the animals from a mere distance, the Zoo creates an intimate atmosphere where you can see the animals up-close and actively participate. Caleb and Carissa loved feeding the giraffes. Caleb giggled when the giraffee licked his hand.Grandad and Nana shared in our joy of watching the little ones on their first zoo visit.
Carissa and Caleb had the best seats in the Zoo!

The Gorilla exhibit was amazing. We watched them eat their vegetarian dinner. And, Jeff and Grandad fed the orangutan's a snack!

It was a great day at the Zoo!

Melt my Heart

Tonight Carissa melted my heart...literally. After I put Carissa in her crib for bed I tidied up the room while Caleb was getting his teeth brushed. When I turned around Carissa pulled out her 'sah' (aka pacifier), made a smacking sound and leaned forward to give me a kiss. I bent down next to her and she gave me a big kiss and then extended her arms out and said "hug me". I lifted her up in my arms and we embraced neck and neck. My heart leaped as she was lOVING on me freely! It is my hope that as Carissa grows older that she will learn the importance of accepting love and showing affection in our family. Carissa, I love you with all my heart; you can hug and kiss me anytime.

The Sandbox

This is our new sandbox!Jeff designed and built it himself. The little ones even 'helped' from time to time. It is 4'x5', has four corner seats covered with canvas, a holder for our umbrella to provide shade on sunny days, sand, a lid, and a closing latch. So far they are loving it and I'm looking forward to many hours of future entertainment!
Thank you hubby & daddy for creating a fun place to play!

4th o' July:Stars,Strips,Watermelon & Corn

Our day started off with a drive to Denver to visit our friends Mike and Katie. Their daughter Evie is almost 3, and as cute as ever. This is her on the right alongside Carissa & Caleb all wearing their 4th of July attire.

I love this set of pics. A little bit of lovin' with quality toys -remote controls!

After a fun morning we went to Lonnie and Emry's house for the 4th of July and Jonathan's birthday celebration. For those of you who don't know, Jonathan is Jeff's older brother and Lonnie and Emry are his in laws.
We had a great afternoon playing the game we bought Jonathan for his birthday. If you have never played The Settlers of Catan you are missing out on a good time. We love this game and have taught many friends and family. Anytime you want to play give us a call - we would lOVE to!
Papa took the tots on a walk in their new double jogger.
Our attempt at a 4th of July family photo.

Caleb and Carissa enjoyed their watermelon and corn to the fullest!
